Energy Mania at the Hardy Home

Since the government has decided to give so much money away, we've decided to take advantage by putting up a windmill, and installing a Geo Thermal Ground Source Heat Pump. This is a picture of the drill. They will drill about 4 holes about 150 feet deep, insert some kind of pipe that will be filled with liquid to capture the heat. This is what will heat our home - cool, huh?
I can see that I'll have a lot of yard work next spring?!
I have included a few pictures and a video of the windmill going up (I can't get it to upload, sorry.). There's never a dull moment around here. We also just had new vinyl windows installed.

OK, here goes again. I need to post some pictures from our family reunion that we had in central Oregon the end of June. We stayed at a KOA in Culver (near Madras). It was a great campground for families. We went rock climbing at Smith Rock one day. All the kids wanted to try it, but the harnesses were too big, so only the older grandkids and the adults were able to climb. Another day we went to Lake Billy Chinook with the boat. The kids had lots of fun in the roped off swimming area.

There is nothing like getting together as a family and having a great time!

I love my family.

PS Cristin's family couldn't make it - and we sure did miss them.

These photos are from the amazing Arches National Park. We saw the most incredible rock formations on this trip. Sometimes I felt like I was in a Star Wars movie!

The top picture with the bikes is in Moab. The next one is in Bryce National Park - we were there for an hour or less, but was an amazing park. I think Dillan's legs are to die for - I wish I had legs that were as cute as his. I loved the butterfly on the yellow flower. We're in Zion in the bottom picture.

Southern Utah National Parks Trip

We had a wonderful trip after Kyle & Kellie's graduation to several of the National Parks. We had our good friends, the Eliason's, with us, too. We all had such a great time hiking, biking, driving, eating, and enjoying close sleeping quarters. Here are a bunch of pictures from Zion National Park. We made it to the top of Angel's Landing!

Utah Trip - April 2009

OK, so I'm a really bad blogger, but I have this wonderful friend who wants to see what my grandkids look like, so I will post some pictures.

Here is a picture of Tessa right after Grandpa pulled her tooth by surprise. Also, a few pictures of Cristin's kids and Kyle's baby. We were also in Utah for Kyle & Kellie's graduation from BYU.

Puppet Show Curtain

OK, now don't be too shocked that I'm actually putting something on my blog. I figured if I wait until I'm caught up, I'll never do it.

Well, I decided to make Joseph a Puppet Show Curtain for his birthday (his birthday is on June 9, so don't tell him, yet!). Kayley's kids like doing puppet shows and have lots of puppets, so I thought this would be a good gift for him.

I copied this pattern out of a book (Dulsanna checked it out from the library for me to look at) thinking that someday I might make it. Well, someday came (it usually doesn't), and I made it. I thought it turned out really cute so I thought I'd put it on my blog. I just wished I had some cute little kids here putting on a puppet show while I was taking a picture - too bad!
