Visit to see Jamen, Tessa, and Twins!

Well, I had a great week at Cristin’s. The babies are so adorable – I loved watching them. I could sit there and watch them, whether they were asleep or awake, for hours. Conner is bigger than Makayla. He has really cute chubby cheeks and rolls on his arms and legs. He has dark hair and is a very happy baby. He sucks his thumb, which helps him to be happy. He has great smiles and makes cute baby sounds when I talk to him. Oh, he has the loudest sneezes for such a little guy! And, he rolled over for the first time right in front of Eric and I; poor Cristin missed it, she was down the hall. Cristin calls him her “teddy bear”.

Makayla is smaller and more petite. She’s kind of lanky (long and thin). She doesn’t have much hair, but it looks blond, maybe even a little red in it. She has pretty, big eyes. She likes to look at you and check you out before she’ll give you the big smiles. But once she’s figured you out, she gives great big wonderful smiles. She has some reflux problems; sometimes when Cristin burps her she will literally throw up the whole thing – it comes out pretty hard and fast, and if Cristin catches it – it’s great. If not, she has to change all Mikayla’s and her clothes (and sometimes Conner’s if he’s close by). She’s fussier – probably because her tummy isn’t always settled. She’s seems to get upset easier, too.
The whole week I mostly helped Cristin out by either staying home with the babies while she ran errands, or came with her to help out with the kids. We went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point one day, and to Chuckie Cheeses another. We did school shopping for Jamen and Tessa, and went to lunch and a movie with Eric’s mom and brother. The babies did pretty well through it all. Cristin is sure a good mom. She loves her kids and takes really good care of them. Eric works hard and is great to spend time with the kids when he’s home.

Trip to Connecticut

Stan and I got back from Connecticut on Friday. We had a fun time exploring the coastline, mostly in the Mystic area. (Mystic is a tourist beach town along the seaport.)

The first day we were there we took a sailboat ride out into the ocean. It was really nice, but there was no wind, so the captain had to use the motor the whole time. She did put the sails up at one point, and they looked cool, but we didn’t go anywhere. Stan got to help raise the sails. The boat had two masts, and they were made out of Douglas Fir logs that came from Oregon! I thought that was cool.

We got caught in an amazing thunderstorm while in Mystic. On Sunday afternoon we went for a walk on a bluff that led to the beach. It was probably 1-2 miles to get to the point of the bluff. We could see the sky getting darker and darker, so we took some pictures and then decided to head back. Well, we got part way, and the wind started getting pretty strong and then the rain starting coming down – only it wasn’t coming down, it was coming across. The wind was so strong that the rain fell sideways and it stung when it hit our faces. We started running, and ran for a while, but I pooped out. There were tall trees on both sides of the path, and I was a little bit afraid (like I was hoping that a tornado wasn't coming our way) that the trees might start falling across the path; There were branches that did! Anyway, we made it back to the car and we were grateful that we happened to have a couple of towels in the car to dry off; we couldn’t have been any wetter if we had been in the shower! Anyway, it was pretty eventful.

My Mom's 80th Birthday

We were in Twin Falls, ID last week for my Mom's 80th birthday party. We had a great time visiting with her and seeing all the family. Here are a few pictures from the party. Don't you love the Mustang (my niece's).

Jamen & Tessa With Twins

Jamen and Tessa are excited to be big brother and sister to the babies. They love to hold and help with the babies.

Pictures of the Twins!

I just returned from Cristin's last night. I've been dying to get some pictures out so everyone can see how cute the twins are. They are both doing really well. Makayla is now 6 lb 9 oz and Conner is 6 lb 7 oz. They both grew 2 inches! They are nursing well, and doing a little better at night. Cristin and I had a great week. I loved holding, watching, and holding and watching and holding and watching the babies. It was hard to leave. I told Cristin if she weren't nursing, I would bring them home with me; but of course, she couldn't have that! I made the pink & blue bow tie quilts for the babies. Cristin said they were perfect for them!

So, here are the pictures!

The Twins are Born!

Cristin had babies on Friday, May 9. We don't have pictures yet, maybe tomorrow. The babies are doing well; the three of them came home today. what a Mother's Day present!
Conner was born at 5 lb 15 oz, and Makayla at 6 lb 2 oz. The babies have been doing well from the beginning. Cristin is having a slower recovery - her uterus was stretched out quite a bit and it's taking some time for things to return to normal.
I leave on Wed to head to Idaho for my Mom's 80th birthday, then off to Utah to see babies! I can't wait.

Wish me luck!

Well, tonight is my last evening of freedom for the next five days. Kayley seems pretty apprehensive about leaving the kids, but I'm sure once she gets on her way she will be fine. I hope Joseph can handle his mom being gone. He seems the most nervous about it.
I havent scheduled anything for the week so the kids can pretty much have all my attention. (I'm having a hot flash just thinking about all this!) Well, it's time for me to go get ready for bed. When I wake up, I'll be responsible for four little ones. Wish me luck!
